You can wirelessly screen share to your Daily.co TV — no more hunting for adapters or dongles! You can screen share during a Daily.co call or start a screen share without being in a video call.

Things to note for all screen shares:

  • Chrome browser. Much like standard Daily.co calls in a browser, Chrome is a requirement for screen shares.
  • Chrome extension. Along with the Chrome browser, you will need to install the Daily.co Screen Sharing & GCal Integration extension before your first screen share. You will be prompted to install our Chrome extension if you don't already have it installed when you go to screen share for the first time. Alternatively, you can install it manually via the Chrome Web Store.
  • No audio. Audio from your computer is not passed during any Daily.co screen share.

In a meeting

Follow these steps to screen share while already in a Daily.co meeting with your Daily.co TV.

  • Make sure you are using the Chrome browser and have already installed our extension.
  • Click the Share screen button from your Daily.co TV Controller page.
  • You will then be presented with a popup to either share Your Entire Screen (if you have multiple monitors you can pick which display to share) or a specific Application Window.

Pro-tip: To share a slide deck (i.e. PowerPoint or Keynote) presentation, be sure you share your entire desktop.

You can end the screen sharing session in several ways:

  • The green Stop my screen share button in the left side of your Meeting controls.
  • The blue Stop sharing button in the popup the Chrome browser creates.

Pro-tip: The Chrome popup can be repositioned anywhere on your screen — giving you quick access to end your screen share.

Not in a meeting

Follow these steps to screen share while not already in a Daily.co meeting with your Daily.co TV.

  • Make sure you are using the Chrome browser and have already installed our extension.
  • Navigate your browser to tv.daily.co.
  • Look for the 6-letter TV code on your TV.
  • Enter the TV code on the TV Controller page. The TV code appears as 2 lines, but don't hit the Return or Tab keys when entering it in your browser. Simply type the 6 letters all in a row.
  • Click the Share your screen button from your Daily.co TV Controller page.
  • You will then be presented with a popup to either share Your Entire Screen (if you have multiple monitors you can pick which display to share) or a specific Application Window.

Pro-tip: To share a slide deck (i.e. PowerPoint or Keynote) presentation, be sure you share your entire desktop.

Pro-tip: Starting a screen share this way actually creates an instant meeting link. You can then share this link and add other participants to your screen share.
